About This Experience

This month’s special Member Meetup will be in collaboration with Docademia, an organization that brings breakthrough documentaries to life through live Q&A with filmmaker-activists. In this Meetup, we’ll begin our night together by watching That’s My Boy, a short documentary on gender identity that portrays the successful and remarkable life of Sonu, a transgender man living in India. His life and struggles are shared by many others and the film offers a solution to society: acceptance & inclusion. Following the documentary, we’ll have a live Q&A (via Zoom) with the director/filmmaker to bring to life the themes presented in the film. A group discussion about the importance of inclusive leadership will be facilitated by Docademia cofounder Nassim Abdi & Ignite cofounder Ryan Jeffery.

What to Expect

  • Opportunity to view a powerful international documentary short film

  • The chance to ask questions of the filmmaker

  • The opportunity to share your thoughts and questions on the theme

  • The chance to get to know other members through a deeper conversation over drinks
