Ignite staff will greet you at Managua International Airport (MGA). From there, travel through scenic countryside to León, where you will check-in to your boutique accommodations. Enjoy cocktails at sunset on the Pacific and get to know your traveling companions over a delicious beach-front dinner.
Thursday, August 16
Begin your adventure in earnest this morning with a guided walking tour through the market and community centers of our community partner, Las Tías. Enjoy a lively welcome program with cultural dancing and performances by the students. Engage in English language games and other activities with the students. Serve and eat lunch at the center with your new friends. Spend the afternoon hiking an active volcano with the option to volcano board to the bottom, before satisfying your appetite at a top-rated restaurant.
Friday, August 17
The morning activities include an additional youth project at one of the community centers and a visit to meet the family of one of the students. Debrief over lunch, enjoy some free time to explore León, and then prepare for one of the best nights of the trip. The Las Tías leadership team will host our group for a traditional Nicaraguan feast, complete with music and dancing.
Saturday, August 18
Check out of your León hotel and transfer via private bus to Granada. Along the way, there's a quick shopping opportunity at the Masaya Craft Market where you can pick up a few artisanal souvenirs made by the indigenous community. Lunch at a coffee farm and a light hike around the Mombacho crater should still leave you with a few hours to explore Granada, a picturesque city filled with historic landmarks. Toast to your new friendships with a final group dinner.
Sunday, August 19
Ignite staff will facilitate your private transportation to the Managua International Airport (MGA) in time to catch your flight home.
