cultural immersion & community engagement

At Ignite, we provide authentic connections and off-the-beaten path experiences that give you a true sense of the people, country and culture. We facilitate this through our relationships with local guides ("the Juan and only") and community organizations like Las Tías.

On this journey, the group spent time engaging at the Las Tías community center that serves under-resourced youth and their families. The Las Tías students and staff benefited from the educational and creative activities facilitated by our group and our travelers learned from the inspiring leaders, culture and values of the amazing Nicaraguan people.

Making a Difference

our experiences are built around partnerships that empower communities

Our community engagement approach includes projects that are creative, physical and/or strategic.
  • Creative projects include academic learning, reading, art, music and sports.
  • Physical activities include giving local workers a break from their regular duties in the kitchen, serving meals, or joining projects like painting, planting, or landscaping.
  • Strategic activities are designed to match travelers with specific skill sets or backgrounds with organizational, business, or leadership development related needs and opportunities.
On this journey, travelers worked alongside leaders at Las Tías in León, Nicaragua. Las Tías was started by 8 business women in 1989 after the revolution in their country. They began reaching out to street children and 20 years later, they had two thriving community centers providing meals, education, health care, and job skills training – serving over 150 youth annually. Learn more about Las Tías and our long-standing commitment to their powerful community work via our philanthropic partner, Spark Ventures - here.
